Sono Aibe has 30 years of senior management experience in global sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR). Half of her career has been with international and domestic NGOs managing field programs and operations, and the other half with private foundations directing philanthropic and impact investing capital to NGOs around the world. She has worked with local partners implementing community-based SRHR programs and policy advocacy projects in Myanmar, Viet Nam, the Philippines, Thailand, China, Laos, Bangladesh, India, Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Nigeria and Senegal. As a consultant, she has performed qualitative research assignments for a number of US foundations as well as USAID. Her current work with CHED Solutions and others is focused on the intersection of climate and SRHR. She has a Master of Health Science degree from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health and a Bachelor’s in History of Science from Harvard University.
